Terms of Service

Effective August 14, 2026

These terms govern your use of Evergreen. By using the service, you agree to these terms and our Acceptable Use Policy. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

Who may use Evergreen

You must be at least 13. If you are not old enough to agree to a contract where you live, a parent or guardian must agree for you. If you use Evergreen for an organization, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it.

What Evergreen provides

Evergreen is an AI-maintained public encyclopedia about technology companies. Articles, answers, citations, and review decisions may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. They are provided for general reference, not as legal, financial, medical, investment, or other professional advice. Check important claims against the linked sources.

Email updates

You may share your email address to hear about Evergreen as it develops. This does not create an account, verify your identity, or connect the address to an edit suggestion. You may ask us to stop contacting you or delete the address at any time.

Contributions

Research requests, edit suggestions, and supporting evidence are contributions. Do not submit confidential material. You keep any rights you have in a contribution, but allow Evergreen to host, copy, adapt, review, display, and share it anywhere in the world, without payment, as needed to operate and improve the service. This permission continues for material already used in public articles or history.

You confirm that you have the right to submit your contribution, that it is not knowingly false or misleading, and that it follows our Acceptable Use Policy. Evergreen may accept, reject, edit, or remove a contribution, and does not promise publication or attribution.

The service and its materials

Evergreen keeps its rights in the service, including its software, design, and branding. Sources, trademarks, images, videos, and other third-party material remain the property of their owners. These terms do not give you rights to that material. You may read and link to public pages, but may not remove notices, misrepresent their source, or imply Evergreen endorses you.

Changes, suspension, and ending use

We may change, pause, or end features as Evergreen develops. We may limit or end access when reasonably needed to protect Evergreen, its users, or others, or when these terms are broken. You may stop using Evergreen at any time. Sections that must continue to make sense, including contribution licenses, ownership, warranty limits, liability limits, and governing law, survive.

Warranty and liability

Evergreen is provided as available, without promises that it will always be accurate, secure, or uninterrupted. To the extent the law permits, Evergreen is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss caused by relying on service content. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited or any rights you have under consumer law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. We will post the revised terms here and change the effective date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will give reasonable notice through the service or another appropriate channel. Continuing to use Evergreen after the new terms take effect means you accept them.

Governing law and contact

California law governs these terms. If local consumer law gives you additional rights, those rights still apply. Questions may be sent to legal@openevergreen.com.
