Privacy Policy

Effective August 14, 2026

This policy explains what Evergreen collects, why we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to Evergreen's website and services.

Information we collect

  • Email interest: if you choose to share your email address, we keep the normalized address, when it was first and most recently submitted, and how many times it was submitted. This is not an account or verified identity.
  • What you submit: company names or domains in research requests, article edit suggestions, supporting evidence, and questions you ask an article. Suggestions, evidence, review results, and research activity may appear publicly.
  • Messages and research: messages you send to our legal address, and information from public sources that Evergreen gathers about companies and people.
  • Voice input: when you choose the voice feature, ElevenLabs may process your audio, transcript, and conversation data so the feature can understand and respond to you.
  • Technical information: ordinary request information such as IP address, browser type, device information, and timestamps that Evergreen or its hosting providers need to deliver and protect the service. Your theme choice stays in your browser's local storage.

Typed article questions are sent to Fireworks to generate an answer. Evergreen does not currently save typed article questions in its own database. Service providers may process the information sent to them under their own terms and privacy practices.

How we use information

  • Provide research, article, editing, chat, and voice features.
  • Send occasional Evergreen product or launch updates when you ask for them.
  • Review contributions, keep their history, and improve article accuracy.
  • Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Evergreen.
  • Respond to questions, requests, and legal obligations.

When information is shared

We share information only as needed with providers that help run Evergreen: MongoDB stores email interest and service data; Vercel hosts the site and carries form requests; Fireworks supports AI generation and review; Parallel supports web research; and ElevenLabs supports voice features. These providers may process information in the United States and other countries. A page may include a YouTube privacy-enhanced video; YouTube may receive device and interaction information when you load or use it. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of the service.

Public contributions can reveal your submitted text and evidence along with contribution history. Current edit suggestions are anonymous and are not connected to an email address. Do not submit information you want kept private.

No selling, advertising, or cross-site tracking

Evergreen does not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or use advertising technology to track you across unrelated sites. We do not currently use analytics tools. Because Evergreen does not track users across sites, it does not respond differently to browser Do Not Track signals.

Browser storage

The email form does not create a session cookie. A local setting remembers your light or dark theme. You can clear local storage in your browser to reset that choice.

Retention and your choices

We keep an email address while it is reasonably needed to send the updates you requested, or until you ask us to delete it. Submitting the same address again updates its capture date and count instead of creating another record. We keep contribution records as needed to maintain a trustworthy public edit history, resolve disputes, protect the service, and meet legal duties. Operational logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed for security and troubleshooting.

You may ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing legal@openevergreen.com. You may also ask about or object to how we use it. We will verify requests and respond as required by applicable law. Some information may be kept when the law permits or requires it.

Children

Evergreen is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact legal@openevergreen.com.

Security

We use reasonable security measures designed to protect personal information. No online service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Evergreen changes. We will post the new version here, update the effective date, and give reasonable notice if a change materially affects your privacy rights. For questions or privacy requests, email legal@openevergreen.com.
